Our Mission

As one of William and Mary’s largest sport clubs, we welcome any students at the College, and our program accommodates beginner through advanced sailors. As an active member of MAISA, we compete against varsity and club teams throughout the East Coast as we work to hone our skills and meet other collegiate sailors. Through our location at Kingsmill Mariana, we have established a relationship with the Kingsmill community. Through our keelboating program, we have also created strong connections in the Hampton Roads community.

Beginner Sailing

Never been in a boat before? No problem! We dedicate two practice days a week to teaching beginner sailing. Many of our practice captains are US Sailing instructors who specialize in getting beginners comfortable in our boats and on the water. We love to welcome new team members so don’t let a lack of experience stop you from getting involved!

Race program

Our racers have qualified for the college sailing semi-finals and we continue to improve every year. We dedicate two practices a week to racing skills and our practice captains specialize in developing a curriculum that pushes intermediate sailors to compete at the highest level.

Williamsburg Community

Working with our local community is central to our mission. Through events such as our annual Cardboard Boat Race and community sailing days  as well as our keelboating program, we have expanded our reach beyond campus. This network of friends of the team has been invaluable as we grow and build our program. We couldn’t be who are today without the partnerships we have built.
